‘My life has changed for the better since leaving The Wright Stuff’

-

I GET UP AT AROUND 8AM, and half an hour later I set off to walk our dog Wiggie, a mini Schnauzer, for an hour. AT 9.30AM, I HEAD TO THE TALKRADIO STUDIOS near London’s Waterloo to meet TV critic Kevin O’sullivan. Together, we host a weekday afternoon programme called The Matthew Wright Show, which focuses on current affairs in the UK and around the world. We get coffee and sandwiches and discuss what we’re going to talk about that day. THE SHOW STARTS AT 1PM AND FINISHES AT 4PM. I hop in a cab and then head back to my local pub to have a few pints before my wife Amelia comes home. I TEND TO COOK DINNER IN OUR HOUSE. I’m quite a confident cook and my speciality is prawn laksa. Amelia’s not as confident in the kitchen and is still trying to get her head around boiled eggs, so she leaves the responsibility to me! I TRY TO GET TO BED AT A REASONABLE HOUR, but I’ve been struggling a bit with insomnia and always wake up around 2am or 3am and wander about the house for a bit until I feel ready to sleep again. The Matthew Wright Show on TALKRADIO, Monday to Friday, 1-4pm
