It’s only been a I few months since Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham won the nation’s hearts after being crowned Love Island champions. But despite being the most loved-up couple in the villa, there was drama last week when Dani announced their shock split. The 22 year old revealed the news on Instagram, writing, “Jack and I have sadly decided to part ways. It’s been an incredible six months, and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but sadly we’ve come to the realisation that it’s not meant to be long term. We both plan to stay friends. I hope you all understand.”
However, fans began to speculate it might not be over for the couple when, just hours later, Dani deleted the post. One follower wrote, “Dani has deleted her insta story. There is hope,” while another posted, “A part of me thinks @jack_charlesf and @Dani_masdyer had an argument and she put it up on her story in the heat of the moment.”
The split riddle continued as Closer went to press, with claims that problems between the couple arose when Jack, 27, appeared to backtrack on his promise to propose next year, as well as their “hectic schedules” getting in the way. Awkwardly, the pair starred in the Love Island reunion special over the weekend and their spin-off reality show is set to air next year. They’re also scheduled to present at the National TV Awards next month.
So far, there are only three surviving couples from this season: Megan Barton-hanson and Wes Nelson, Kaz Crossley and Josh Denzel, and Adam Collard and Zara Mcdermott.
