Michelle’s sadness as Mark holidays without her
Michelle Keegan’s long-distance marriage tugs at her heartstrings once again as hubby Mark Wright’s family lap up his Hollywood lifestyle
His family spent H the week living it up with him in LA after their luxury holiday to the Caribbean last month – all while Mark Wright’s wife Michelle Keegan was back home in the UK filming her new show, Brassic.
And insiders tell Closer how the 31-year-old actress has been feeling increasingly frustrated at not being able to spend time with her husband, also 31, and enjoy the Hollywood lifestyle that his parents, Carol and Mark Snr, as well as his sisters, Jess, 33, and Natalya, 18, are all getting to revel in.
A source says, “It’s been a difficult few weeks for Michelle. She’s had to miss out on trips and experiences, as well as dealing with being apart from Mark, which has been really tough.
BITTERSWEET
“She was invited to join them, but she had a packed filming schedule that she couldn’t get out of, which was bittersweet.
“While she loves her work, it’s sometimes hard – especially when Mark is so far away and their marriage has to take a bit of a back seat.
“Michelle’s happy Mark’s had his family out there to support him and enjoy the amazing lifestyle with, but there’s part of her that wishes she could be there with them. It’s only normal to feel a pang of sadness... and even jealousy.”
The star couple have spent much of their three-and-a-half-year marriage in a longdistance relationship – with Michelle spending chunks of time in South Africa filming Our Girl while Mark is based in LA, where he co-hosts entertainment show Extra.
MISSING OUT
And while the former TOWIE star has been revelling in his family’s recent visit on Instagram, pals say behind the scenes Mark is sympathetic that his wife’s at home working, and has been going out of his way to keep Michelle as involved as possible.
The source says, “Mark Facetimes Michelle as soon as he wakes up and sends her pictures and sweet messages throughout the day.
“He’s been sending snapshots of places he wants to take her to next year, so she doesn’t feel like she’s missing out on everything.”
And insiders say the pair are going to make up for time spent apart with a romantic Christmas together.
The source adds, “They’re both determined to make the festive break extra special and enjoy some quality time.
“Michelle’s also going to try to take longer breaks in between projects next year so she can spend some more time in LA. They hope that by making compromises, they’ll work towards a longer-term solution.”
