Posh: “David’s partying is coming between us”
Victoria Beckham is in a fresh panic due to husband David’s work commitments, and fears it will see them spend even less time together
She turned up S to support husband David Beckham at a party for whisky brand Haig Club in London last week, but fans were quick to point out that Posh appeared less than thrilled to be there, noticing a lack of intimacy between the couple.
“David and Victoria look like two strangers who have been asked to stand next to each other for a picture,” one fan wrote, with another adding, “David always looks tense when he is around Victoria, and she hasn’t smiled in years. They should just move on from each other.”
And insiders tell Closer that Posh’s downcast mood wasn’t helped by the fact that everyone wanted to speak to David – including a lot of women. The bash was also attended by David’s best pal, sports manager Dave Gardner, 41, whom she reportedly doesn’t get along with, and socialite Lady Mary Charteris, 31, who was pictured partying with David, 43, last year.
And to make matters worse, Posh, 44, was also said to be feeling protective of her son Brooklyn, 19, who had brought along his new girlfriend, model Hana Cross.
A source says, “It wasn’t the best of nights for Vic, and she spent most of it looking a bit uncomfortable. She knows whenever she and David are pictured out together the public will pick apart their relationship, and she’s fed up with the scrutiny time and time again. It’s not nice to have so many women vying for David’s attention and even though she completely trusts him, no one likes to see their husband pounced on by so many female admirers.

“She only nursed one drink and posed for pictures to support David. She did her best to put how she felt to one side, but she couldn’t hide it.”
The Beckhams – who are also parents to Romeo, 16, Cruz, 13, and Harper, seven – have been rocked by repeated reports of trouble in their marriage over the past few years.
David spends a large part of his time in Miami, where he is launching a football team, and as a brand ambassador for the Haig Club, he is paid to attend events and parties.
Last month, reports claimed he and close pal Guy Ritchie had bought a London pub for £3million, and insiders say Posh is worried that this latest work commitment will force him to make regular appearances there in the evenings to host big groups.
TENSION
The source says, “Vic can’t help but feel that this new pub is going to be the place where David spends his downtime when he’s back in London. She knows she can’t be there with him, as she’s busy with her work and one of them has to be with the kids. She can’t bear to see him party without her when he is in London. She just wishes work didn’t get in the way and that they had more time together.”
There have been previous reports that Posh isn’t a fan of David’s partying, particularly when they appeared to argue at Glastonbury Festival last year, after she was reportedly annoyed that he’d left her for a period of time on her own. And in October, David commented that his marriage was “hard work” in a candid interview, saying that their romance had become “more complicated over time”.
The source adds, “It’s all just adding to the tension, and Vic doesn’t think David has any intention of curbing his appetite for partying. On the one hand, she wants to be with him when he’s out and about, and on the other, she just doesn’t have the energy for it any more and would prefer to be at home. She’s afraid it will come between them.

new line of clubs to get people interested in them. She trusts him, but it’s just hard for her to accept that there seem to be even more reasons for him to be away – and it doesn’t help that he’s surrounding himself with people who she worries are a bad influence.”
