‘I nearly destroyed my looks’

-

She’s previously revealed she suffered from body dysmorphia after turning to cosmetic procedures in 2013. And Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson now says it’s easy to become addicted to fillers – and says she worries for vulnerable teenage girls, who see cosmetic procedures as normal now.

Marnie, 26, says, “I was 21 when I first got fillers and I got them because everyone else was getting them. I had fillers put in my lips and cheeks. I had different types of filler put in my face and went to lots of different practitioners. Before I knew it, I looked completely different. But I thought I looked great and it became addictive.

“My lips were huge and my cheeks looked ridiculous. Some of the filler migrated to different parts of my face, making me look puffy. I remember my mum saying, ‘Marnie, you don’t look like you.’ I thought I looked OK, but one day I saw photos of me and I realised just how overboard I had gone.

“I got them dissolved about a year ago. It’s so easy to think that fillers will change your face for the better, but it’s a slippery slope. I feel so sorry for teenage girls – fillers just seem normal to them.

“I get so many messages from young fans asking me about them, and I tell them to have a long, hard think about it before doing anything. If you go overboard, you can destroy your natural looks, like I nearly did.”
