REBECCA: ‘I couldn’t do a duet with Cheryl!’

They formed a close bond during her three-month stint on in 2011, but Rebecca Ferguson tells that her former mentor, Cheryl, hasn’t spoken to her since.

Liverpudlian singer Rebecca, 32 – who came second in ahead of One Direction – says, “I haven’t seen Cheryl since We were both on

in 2016 – she was being interviewed and I was singing – but I didn’t even speak to her then. She left before I sang, so I didn’t get to say hello to her.”

And Rebecca adds that despite not staying in touch, there’s no feud or bitterness between the pair and she wishes her all the best.

“There’s no hard feelings. I think that, after the show, people wanted drama and so they riled me up a bit. They’d say, ‘Cheryl hasn’t called?’ I was only 22, so I was there getting upset, thinking, ‘Maybe she should have!’ But now I’m 32, I realise people have their own lives and careers. It’s not personal.

“I wish her well, although I don’t think we could duet. I think it’d be a bit out of balance with our different styles.”
