‘SERENA’S AN INSPIRATION’

I was impressed by Serena Williams’ inspirational message to mums and dads juggling parenthood with work. She wrote, “My fellow moms and dads working, you inspire me”. It helps to have a celebrity of her status encouraging parents, as it’s still hard to be a working mum whoever you are. Serena’s a strong working woman; she’s active, opinionated and successful, as well as being a mum to one-year-old daughter Alexis. Recent research found that almost half of women had to reduce their working hours after having children, while a further one in five had to leave their jobs. This shouldn’t be the case! Let’s hope we can see some changes in the future.
