‘I had cleaning lessons for my new show!’

In Sheridan plays cleaner Sam – a struggling mum with a secret online gambling addiction. The six- part series sees Sam drawn into a world of financial crime when she stumbles on some lucrative – but dangerous – inside informatio­n.

Sheridan confesses, “The script went completely over my head, so I went to the library and got out ‘

I’m not as clever as my character – and I’m not very good with money. I’ve always thought, if you can’t take it with you – spend it! But I’m getting a bit more sensible now.”

As for cleaning tips, Sheridan reveals she took a specialist course to get into character, adding, “I’m afraid I’m not very good at cleaning, my fella will tell you that. I’m very messy. Though I do muck out the donkeys – and I clean up dog s**t all day!” us. “I’ve always wanted to have a farm, surrounded by animals. It’s my little safe haven; a bit of sanity. It’s hidden away and it’s perfect for me.” Adding four donkeys, two goats and two pigs to the several dogs she already owns, Sheridan explains her reason for craving the quiet life. “I think when you’re younger, you’re chasing something and you want everyone to love you,” she says. “I still totally love my job, but I don’t put everything on it any more. The farm is my way of relaxing and getting unconditio­nal love from my animals – and then I can come back [to London] to do my job.”
