KELLY BROOK: ‘I’ve lost a stone – now I don’t need to doctor my selfies!’

The model and TV presenter opens up to Closer’s Neeru Sharma about transforming her body…

ith her striking hourglass figure, she’s been hailed W as having the body many women dream of, so it comes as a surprise to learn that Kelly Brook spent last year “editing” her photos to make herself look slimmer because she felt so out of shape.

The bubbly 39-year-old tells Closer, “Last year I gained so much weight, I was altering and doctoring my pictures to make myself look slimmer. I’ve been taking off five inches from my waist and posting photos of myself from ten years ago. Clearly, I was craving the body I used to have!”

The star has recently lost 15lbs in three months – dropping to a size 12 – and is positively glowing. But she openly admits she took the focus off her weight last year after going up to a size 16. The 5ft 5 star says, “I’ve shed a stone and feel amazing, but last year I lost my shape. I couldn’t fit anything over my boobs and my waist nearly disappeared. My face was like a balloon – I had no cheekbones and I felt bloated.”

WEIGHT GAIN

She adds, “I’ve always had an hourglass shape, but that made me lazy. Because I’m naturally curvy, I’d think I could get away with a few pounds and it wouldn’t show – but before you know it, you’re at the top end of your BMI. My weight gain was hurting my back. My boobs are really big and that put pressure on my frame – I ended up at the chiropractor.”

In recent years, the model-turned-actress – who’s been dating judo expert Jeremy Parisi, 33, since 2015 – stepped away from the spotlight to enjoy the country life at her home in Kent. And she confesses her weight ballooned after falling in love with food-loving Italian Jeremy. She says, “I’d been in LA for a while and was working out a lot and wearing skimpier clothes, but then I came back and moved to the countryside. I’d be making stews and dumplings and going to the pub. Then I met Jeremy, who absolutely loves food. Suddenly, I was eating three big meals a day with desserts. I was eating heartily and being happy, I suppose”.

She adds, laughing, “The only problem was, the happier I was, the fatter I was getting. I was bursting out of my dresses!”

But Kelly reached breaking point after several wardrobe malfunctions.

She says, “I bought all these skinny jeans in LA, but after a while they felt so tight. I even accused my housekeepers of shrinking them in the dryer – they were too embarrassed to tell me I just couldn’t fit into them!”

She adds, “I’d try on a size 14 dress and Jeremy would struggle with the zip and say, ‘Oh my God, will you please just buy a size 16?’ and I’d refuse. Jeremy tells me I look great now, but he also told me I had to stop altering my photos!”

FITTER THAN EVER

Now the star credits the Slim Fast plan with helping her drop the weight and says she’s fitter and healthier than ever.

She explains, “The plan works for me because it doesn’t cut out any food groups. Instead, I’ll mix one of the orange and mango sachets into water before mealtimes and it makes me feel fuller. I don’t have as many desserts or sugary foods, and while I’ll have the odd glass of wine or pudding, I’m full after a couple of bites.”

She’s also taken up running for 45 minutes, three times a week, and says it’s
