KELLY BROOK: ‘I’ve lost a stone – now I don’t need to doc­tor my self­ies!’

The model and TV pre­sen­ter opens up to Closer’s Neeru Sharma about trans­form­ing her body…

ith her strik­ing hour­glass fig­ure, she’s been hailed W as hav­ing the body many women dream of, so it comes as a sur­prise to learn that Kelly Brook spent last year “edit­ing” her pho­tos to make her­self look slim­mer be­cause she felt so out of shape.

The bub­bly 39-year-old tells Closer, “Last year I gained so much weight, I was al­ter­ing and doc­tor­ing my pic­tures to make my­self look slim­mer. I’ve been tak­ing off five inches from my waist and post­ing pho­tos of my­self from ten years ago. Clearly, I was crav­ing the body I used to have!”

The star has re­cently lost 15lbs in three months – dropping to a size 12 – and is pos­i­tively glow­ing. But she openly ad­mits she took the fo­cus off her weight last year af­ter go­ing up to a size 16. The 5ft 5 star says, “I’ve shed a stone and feel amaz­ing, but last year I lost my shape. I couldn’t fit any­thing over my boobs and my waist nearly dis­ap­peared. My face was like a bal­loon – I had no cheek­bones and I felt bloated.”


She adds, “I’ve al­ways had an hour­glass shape, but that made me lazy. Be­cause I’m nat­u­rally curvy, I’d think I could get away with a few pounds and it wouldn’t show – but be­fore you know it, you’re at the top end of your BMI. My weight gain was hurt­ing my back. My boobs are re­ally big and that put pres­sure on my frame – I ended up at the chi­ro­prac­tor.”

In re­cent years, the model-turned-ac­tress – who’s been dat­ing judo ex­pert Jeremy Parisi, 33, since 2015 – stepped away from the spot­light to en­joy the coun­try life at her home in Kent. And she con­fesses her weight bal­looned af­ter fall­ing in love with food-lov­ing Ital­ian Jeremy. She says, “I’d been in LA for a while and was work­ing out a lot and wear­ing skimpier clothes, but then I came back and moved to the coun­try­side. I’d be mak­ing stews and dumplings and go­ing to the pub. Then I met Jeremy, who ab­so­lutely loves food. Sud­denly, I was eat­ing three big meals a day with desserts. I was eat­ing heartily and be­ing happy, I sup­pose”.

She adds, laugh­ing, “The only prob­lem was, the hap­pier I was, the fat­ter I was get­ting. I was burst­ing out of my dresses!”

But Kelly reached break­ing point af­ter sev­eral wardrobe mal­func­tions.

She says, “I bought all these skinny jeans in LA, but af­ter a while they felt so tight. I even ac­cused my house­keep­ers of shrink­ing them in the dryer – they were too em­bar­rassed to tell me I just couldn’t fit into them!”

She adds, “I’d try on a size 14 dress and Jeremy would strug­gle with the zip and say, ‘Oh my God, will you please just buy a size 16?’ and I’d refuse. Jeremy tells me I look great now, but he also told me I had to stop al­ter­ing my pho­tos!”


Now the star cred­its the Slim Fast plan with help­ing her drop the weight and says she’s fit­ter and health­ier than ever.

She ex­plains, “The plan works for me be­cause it doesn’t cut out any food groups. In­stead, I’ll mix one of the orange and mango sa­chets into wa­ter be­fore meal­times and it makes me feel fuller. I don’t have as many desserts or sug­ary foods, and while I’ll have the odd glass of wine or pud­ding, I’m full af­ter a cou­ple of bites.”

She’s also taken up run­ning for 45 min­utes, three times a week, and says it’s
