PRISON 8 7 THROUGH THE KEYHOLE VERA
GREAT FOR NOSEY PARKERS SAT 12 JAN, 9.30PM, ITV HARD-HITTING DOCUMENTARY MON 14 JAN, 9PM, C4 THE GREATEST DANCER WEEK TWO AUDITIONS SAT 12 JAN, 8.10PM, BBC1 WHERE DID YOU GET THAT HAT? SUN 13 JAN, 8PM, ITV
Danny Dyer, Sally Phillips and Chris “Kammy” Kamara are the panellists on tonight’s show – with Sally revealing the show is “much more glittery” than anything she’s done on the Beeb, and professional geezer Danny appearing to be practically the same as his Eastenders character Mick Carter. The team kick things off in North Wales, at a verrrry swanky 42-acre mansion. Viewers at home won’t get to see who owns the homes until the panel do – so we can all play at guessing “who lives in a house like this?” Capturing the reality of life behind bars, C4’s unique series brings us an episode focusing on violence in prison. “It’s just one of those days,” comments a bloodied prisoner. Intense. The auditions trot on, with Cheryl, Matthew Morrison and Oti Mabuse casting an expert eye over the dancers shimmying about on the stage in the hope of bagging £50,000 and a chance to perform on Strictly, whoop! Our fave straight-talking Northumbrian detective – and her hat – are back for another outing around the beautiful north-east coast. In episode one, Vera (the brilliant Brenda Blethyn) and her team investigate the murder of trainee prison psychologist Joanne, whose body is discovered on a massive landfill site. Paul Kaye joins the regular cast as a by-the-book forensic officer, and Peter Davison puts in a star turn as well.
