Lisa’s fears over new showdown with Ant

The bitter war between Lisa Armstrong and Ant Mcpartlin shows no sign of stopping as she dreads a clash at the NTAS

They’re set to come face-to-face at the National Television Awards next week, a year after announcing their acrimonious split – with claims of adultery, a reported legal warning over “attacks” on social media and a custody battle over their pet dog Hurley being played out in the public eye.

Now pals say Lisa Armstrong, 42, is anxious about seeing Ant Mcpartlin, 43, at the ceremony when Strictly Come Dancing (where she works as a make-up artist) goes head-to-head in the Best Talent Show Category with Britain’s Got Talent, which he co-hosts with Declan Donnelly, 43 – although Ant has been absent for much of the past year to deal with personal demons following a stint in rehab and a drink-driving charge in April.

After he announced the end of his 11-year marriage to Lisa, a bitter war erupted, with Closer previously reporting how Lisa refused to be silenced by her ex after allegedly receiving a legal warning to stop “attacking” Ant’s new girlfriend – former PA Anne-marie Corbett – on social media. Although there’s a possibility Ant may not attend the awards after reports he and Dec have been double-booked to film auditions for BGT, Lisa is still said to be nervous.

A source says, “Lisa’s worried about seeing Ant and Anne- Marie together for the first time, but she doesn’t want to show weakness. She’s preparing herself for it to be upsetting but is determined not to let it ruin the night. Lisa’s in a really good place right now and is throwing herself into her work.”

Despite being axed from BGT amid reports it was “untenable” to work alongside her ex, Lisa has landed a role on a new makeover show alongside Kate Middleton’s hairdresser, Richard Ward, and is reportedly lining up meetings for some potential Us-based jobs.

And following claims last month of “tense” handovers of the former couple’s Labrador, Hurley, it was reported that Lisa was “choosing between keeping Hurley or moving on without him because she doesn’t want anything to do with Ant in the future.”

But pals say Lisa is still considering whether she wants to fight for the pooch. The source adds, “Hurley’s been her saviour and she’s not prepared to give him up.”
