What were the highlights for you this series? JAMES NESBITT

(ADAM): I loved working with Eve Myles who played Caitlin. She has naturally funny bones. John Thomson and I also loved filming scenes on a golf driving range. John cracks me up.

Fay, how did you feel about Adam calling your character “opinionated and spiky?” FAY RIPLEY (JENNY):

I was genuinely really offended! When I watched that episode, having forgotten it was in the script, I was going, “All right, calm down!” I’m defensive of my own character. But OK, fine. The mouthy drunk one. Whatever!

Robert, did you enjoy filming at Manchester airport? ROBERT BATHURST (DAVID):

We obviously had permission to film there on an ordinary working day and we had members of the public walking backwards and forwards in the shots going about their own business. If you don’t make too much noise and don’t get in the way, then everyone at airports is so busy trying to get to their flights that they ignore you.

Hermione, Karen was described as “effortlessly elegant?” HERMIONE NORRIS (KAREN):

I felt a little embarrassed! I did think [writer] Mike Bullen was taking the mickey. You don’t think about yourself like that…

What were your highlights? HERMIONE:

Paul Ritter returning as Karen’s business partner Benjamin Stevens. And we had Paul Kaye playing Dan the vicar. A lovely man.

John, was it really you in the canal in episode one? JOHN THOMSON (PETE):

It was! There’s a lot of rubbish in those canals. I said, “I can feel Victorian skulls cracking under my feet!” I wore a wetsuit but it was still so cold.
