Why Posh’s billion-dollar fortune can’t buy her happiness

● Reports reveal their combined wealth has hit $1bn ● David has continued to face claims of getting close to other women ● Pals say Posh fears fame and success have pushed them apart

They’re set to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary in July – and last week it was reported that they’d become joint billionaires thanks to the success of “Brand Beckham” – with their business ventures earning them a whopping £700 million, equating to one billion US dollars.

SECRET PARTIES

But despite their power as a brand, sources say wealth and worldwide fame haven’t brought David and Victoria Beckham complete happiness – as sources say the pair have suffered tension over recent rumours about his growing friendships with other women.

Insiders recently claimed that Victoria, 44, had concerns about David’s friendship with supermodel Helena Christensen – the pair were said to have stayed in contact after posing for a selfie together back in December at a swanky starstudded bash in Miami, where the former footballer’s MLS soccer team is based.

Posh was also said to be unhappy when the former footballer allegedly partied with 22-year-old supermodel Bella Hadid at another private bash during his Miami trip, while she was at home in London with their four children – Brooklyn, 20, Romeo, 16, Cruz, 14, and seven-year-old Harper.

A source says, “Vic can’t stand reports of these parties and female friendships that David’s said to be forming – they’ve made her feel so miserable. It makes it even worse as it always seems to happen in Miami, where he travels so often for work.

“She and David had a heated exchange where she told him she’s sick of their marriage being speculated about in such a negative light. She trusts him, but says it looks bad to others if he’s partying with beautiful women thousands of miles away from her – even though she believes it’s totally innocent.”

The showbiz couple have been plagued by reports of marriage trouble over the years – with David’s alleged infidelity repeatedly hitting the headlines over the past two decades.

After they were faced with cheating accusations in 2001 – something David strongly

denied – Victoria admitted on an interview with Michael Parkinson that same year, “As much as you can trust someone and they can say, ‘Honestly, I haven’t done this, I don’t know this person,’ they [the press reports] still put that element of doubt in your mind.”

David, 43, was then accused of cheating with the couple’s PA, Rebecca Loos, in 2004 – something he has always denied. Speaking about the ordeal in 2007, Posh said, “I’m not going to lie, it was a really tough time. No one said marriage was going to be easy. Yes, there have been bumps along the road.”

INSECURE

The source adds, “Vic has told pals she’s always been insecure and hates people linking David to other women after everything they’ve been through – or insinuating something scandalous is happening with his female friends. Because of all the backlash they face as a couple and their work schedules often keeping them apart, Pals can’t help but feel Vic’s fame and fortune can never make her truly happy.”

The source says another sore spot for Victoria has been David’s constant travelling with his MLS soccer league. When David announced his retirement from football in 2013, he insisted he was excited to spend more time as a house dad in London – admitting, “I’ve been playing football for the last 22 years, not always with the family, I travel a lot so it’s nice to be at home and spend some time with them.”

Echoing his sentiment, Victoria added, “We are now just really excited at the prospect of spending more time as a family.”

But less than a year later, David revealed his new Miami business venture and has spent the past five years jetting back and forth. He also recently opened a new gastropub venture – named Lore Of The Land – in London’s upmarket Fitzrovia with celeb pal Guy Ritchie, meaning his time is also compromised when he’s in the UK. The source adds, “Victoria and David spoke for years about how his retirement would look, and friends say she didn’t envision him still being so busy with work projects and travelling across the world. Pals say she sometimes feels the fame and success have just made it so much harder to spend time together as a normal family. It’s almost like the bigger stars they become, the more they are pushed apart by work commitments. She wants to be supportive of David’s career, but friends know she feels stung by how much time he spends away – she hates the long distance.”

Last year, David was said to have angered Posh when he described marriage as “hard work” in an interview, adding, “You make difficult situations – like travelling away, being away from each other – work.”

FRAGILE

His comments reignited the months of speculation over the fragile state of their marriage, with the pair even being forced to deny divorce claims in June.

But insiders say with their big wedding anniversary just four months away, Posh is eager to use the milestone celebration to silence their critics for good.

The source adds, “Posh really wants David to go all-out and do something huge for her so the world can see just how strong they truly are. It’s been difficult for them and she knows all eyes will be on them for the anniversary. Deep down, she’d love for him to re-propose so they could renew their vows at a big, star-studded party. Something to show that they’re not just successful as a brand, but also as man and wife.”
