Liam & Simon support ‘devastated’ Louis after sister’s shock death
Following the tragic news of the loss of his sister Félicité, 18, Louis Tomlinson’s celeb pals rally round to help
It’s been just over three years since he lost his mum Johannah to leukemia, and Louis Tomlinson was left traumatised by yet more heartache last week, when his 18-year- old sister Félicité died due to a suspected heart attack.
The 1D star, 27, was said to be “devastated and distraught” after Félicité, aka “Fizzy” – an Instagram star and aspiring fashion designer – died at home. As Closer went to press, the death was being treated as unexplained. The siblings were extremely close and saw each other regularly.
Insiders tell Closer that Louis’ former bandmates Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Harry Styles, plus their mentor Simon Cowell, were among the first to reach out.
HEARTBREAKING
A source says, “Liam’s offered to cancel his upcoming work commitments to be there for Louis. Liam, Niall and Harry all knew Félicité and are devastated. They’ll do whatever they can to help. Louis is like a son to Simon, and he’s ensuring he has all the support possible.”
Louis pulled out of his Comic Relief performance as the news broke, and praised his sister as “lovable, caring and beautiful”.
Days earlier, he’d spoken about the support he’d received from his 1D bandmates in the wake of his mum’s death, revealing that they’d watched his tribute performance on The X Factor. He said, “Seeing everyone there – Harry, Niall and Liam – that was what I needed.”
Many celebs also expressed support for Louis on Twitter, including James Corden, who said, “Such incredibly sad news today. You’re not on your own in this. So many people are pulling for you and your family right now.” Fellow X Factor star Olly Murs wrote, “Absolutely heartbreaking hearing the news of Louis’ sister Félicité. Sending my love to him and all his family.”
ROMANCES
Louis has been dating Eleanor Calder on and off since 2011, but his love life hit the headlines in 2015, when it emerged that US stylist Briana Jungwirth was expecting his child following a four-week romance.
The situation turned sour when their son Freddie was eight months old and Louis’ then-girlfriend Danielle Campbell moved into his £15m LA home. Briana lashed out on social media, saying, “You can pretend all you want, but you’ll NEVER be my baby son’s mother.” Sources previously told Closer that Johannah had helped smooth things over, and Briana paid tribute to her shortly after her death.
Then, in May last year, Louis’ estranged father Troy Austin revealed he had cancerous tumours on his liver, and at the time, said he hadn’t spoken to Louis for five years, but wanted to reconcile. Insiders say Louis’ fractured family made him and his six siblings especially close. The source adds, “His family have had more heartache than anyone should suffer, but they are surrounded with love. Everyone will be helping them through this.”
