Cheryl: “I don’t want to let Liam go”
As Liam Payne is linked to model Duckie Thot, insiders say Cheryl still sees him as her rock

You, a song about a controlling relationship – with fans insisting her romantic lead was the spitting image of the former 1D star. And last week, Cheryl was quick to set the record straight on her relationship with her ex, insisting, “We love and care about each other a lot and we share a child. We’re going to be in each other’s lives forever.”

And despite Liam, 25, being linked to 23-year old supermodel Duckie Thot – with the pair attending the Cartier and British Vogue Darling dinner together, and Duckie uploading a photo on social media of the pair holding hands – sources say Cheryl, 35, is more determined than ever to not let go of her connection to him.
A pal says, “Cheryl will always love Liam as the father of her child and she once hoped their romance could have worked out – with more children. Cheryl has admitted to pals about her nerves over Liam dating other women, because she fears that if he settled down with someone else and even started another family, she may not be able to have the same close relationship with him. She’ll always be the mother of his child and she knows that their relationship is important to him.
“No one wants to hear about their ex with someone new, and Cheryl has admitted she gets annoyed when Liam is constantly linked to younger women. After their break-up, friends told Cheryl she needed to let Liam go, but she said she’d never let go of her love for him because he means so much and always will.”
Last week, Liam appeared to discuss becoming a father at a young age – insisting,
“I haven’t really managed to settle. Since my break-up and then moving…who the f**k knows? Everything happens five years earlier in my life.”
Cheryl was previously forced to deny claims she had trapped Liam into having a baby, insisting he had wanted to be a father since he was 16 – adding, “[Liam] wanted to settle down and have a family.”

Liam has also revealed how Cheryl dislikes people mentioning their age gap, insisting in 2017, “She doesn’t like to talk about that.”

Liam’s quotes as they were a bit confusing. She’d hate to think he was suggesting he had a baby five years too early, as he was so eager to start a family. Liam has a history of being loose-lipped in interviews and allowing people to assume things, which she finds frustrating, but she knows he doesn’t mean it intentionally. She’s also hated people assuming she forced him to have a baby as she was older. She’s told pals it was a joint decision.”
Days earlier, Cheryl – who insiders previously claimed would be open to a second child with Liam – had opened up about her desire for more kids, saying, “I want 100 kids… I’m always broody”. The source adds, “No matter what, Liam will always be a big part of Cheryl’s life and she’s happy they’ve forged a good relationship. She doesn’t love seeing him linked to young models, but she knows he has to live his own life. As long as he continues to make her and Bear a priority, she’s happy. She knows it’s highly unlikely, but if for whatever reason they did decide to try for a second baby in the future, she knows they’d still make a great team.”
