‘Having children brings back the magic'

- By Maisie Bovingdon

‘When I’m upset, Dane makes me laugh’

hectic for us. We try to take it in turns and switch it around to see family. So this year I’m seeing my mum on Christmas Eve, and on Christmas Day we’re going to Dane’s parents with his sister and her partner – she had twins in February, so she’s got two little boys. They’ll be there with Florence, which will be nice, as it’s their first Christmas with Flo.

“Boxing Day, we’re going to my dad’s. Dane loves it, because when I’m pregnant he’s like, ‘I’ve got a free taxi service!’ I’ll be driving throughout Christmas. I drive, he drinks – until next year!”

WEDDING

Driving duties aside, with just weeks until her due date, Casey intends to sit back and relax – especially after her first birth proved to be a stressful experience. “I am taking full advantage of being pregnant at Christmas and letting everyone wait on me hand and foot. I’m just going to sit there. Nobody is going to say ‘Can you come and help?’ because I’m so pregnant. Who knows, I could give birth early and even have a Christmas baby!

“My labour was horrendous last time. I had such a bad time, and I was so ill afterwards. I’ve been considering a C-section – I’ve been looking at different options. I haven’t made my mind up yet, but because I did have trauma last time, they would let me have a C-section this time.”

Casey first found fame as a glamour model, and stole headlines on Celebrity

Big Brother back in 2014 as part of a love triangle with Lee Ryan and Jasmine Waltz. After her heartbreak was screened to the nation, Casey finally found happiness with Dane, 35, who happens to be the former boss of Love Island winner Jack Fincham. The couple, who already knew each other before Casey found fame, got engaged last January after officially dating for two years, and she can’t wait to start planning their wedding.

“Last year, I was like, ‘Ah, it would be nice to be proposed to’,” she says. “And in January, he did it when we went on our family holiday. So then I was engaged.

“Now I’ve got Florence, and a second one coming, I think I’d like to have all my children before I get married, so they can all be at the wedding.”

In November, Casey bravely admitted to Closer that she has suffered with both postnatal and antenatal depression, and has “days when I feel really down”. But she says Dane has been a rock. “I think it’s been quite overwhelming this time round. Being pregnant and looking after Florence is tough.

“My friends and family are amazing, and so is Dane. When he can see I’m upset, he tries to make me laugh or tells me how amazing I am. He’s so great. I couldn’t be luckier.”

NO MORE PARTIES

Casey was once known for being a party girl, but admits things couldn’t be more different now, and that her

New Year’s Eve celebrations are on hold, in favour of an early night. “I don’t like

New Year’s Eve, never have,” she says. “Since being with Dane, I don’t think we’ve ever celebrated New Year’s Eve. He feels the same as me. We’ve always gone to bed before midnight!

“I went out a lot in my 20s, and had a great time, and partied, and went to events, and came in at 5am… I loved it. But I’d had enough, and was ready for a change. Now I’m happy with me and Dane on the sofa watching Netflix with a cup of tea. I was so ready for that family life.”

With the new baby due in January, Casey still has ambitious plans for 2020, which include being back on our TV screens.

“Dancing On Ice would be cool, but I’m A Celeb!… is not for me. I’d be horrendous at that. Spiders are not my thing. I’d love to get back on telly maybe. Who knows?”
