LISA PLOTS FRIENDS FILM

-

She got Friends fans excited last week by expressing her interest in doing a film version of the hit TV series, despite the planned reunion show on hold due to the pandemic.

Lisa Kudrow teased she would “love” to do a Friends film, saying, “It would be fun if everybody wanted to do it. I don’t just mean the cast – the creators of the show, too.”

And insiders say Lisa, 56 – who played Phoebe Buffay – is trying to chivvy things along with the rest of the cast and crew behind the scenes.

A source says, “With the reunion paused, Lisa feels now is the right time to get together and bash out an idea for a movie – and get the show creators, David Crane and Marta Kauffman, to devise a plot. Lisa and Marta are good friends. She’s been suggesting ideas and thinks it could happen.”

In another interview last week, Lisa teased fans that the delayed reunion show won’t just be a sit-down chat. When asked if it’ll be scripted, as opposed to cast and creators reminiscing, Lisa said, “There are other things in it. There are other things to it; things I shouldn’t really talk about because they should be good – but those things can’t happen [right now]. We just decided on another date and we’ll see if we can do it then.”

Lisa – who is usually private about her personal life – also revealed she waited five years to date her now-husband, French advertising executive Michel Stern – with whom she shares son Julian, 22 – in the ’80s, as he was with her ex-housemate. She added Michel likes that she’s “working and keeping busy.”

The source says, “Lisa’s feeling confident about the film idea, thanks to Michel’s support.”
