‘JEN WANTS TO “MAKE UP” WITH ANGELINA’
There was no love lost between Jennifer Anniston and Angelina Jolie after both of their splits from Brad Pitt, but it appears the Friends star is keen to heal the rift with her nemesis.
As Closer reported last week, Jen, 51, was said to be upset that her renewed friendship with ex Brad, 56, hangs in the balance as he gets closer to his former wife Angelina while they co-parent their six children. There were reports that, after a messy split, the exes had reunited to be by their older daughters’ sides.
And now Hollywood insiders reveal Jen is considering calling a truce with Angelina, 44, in a bid to save her relationship with Brad and keep building on the bond they’ve formed since reuniting at her 50th birthday bash last year.
A source says, “Jen has done some reflecting and really values her friendship with Brad. She doesn’t want to lose him again and wonders if there’s a way to makes amends and smooth over any awkwardness with Angelina. Even if it means reaching out to Ange via Brad, she’d like to put a stop to any animosity so she can still be close to him without feeling stuck in the middle.
“Jen understands Brad and Ange will put their children before anyone, but going forward she’d like her friendship with Brad to not be an issue.”
Jen has spoken previously about Angelina – who, according to recent reports, had allegedly banned her ex-husband from letting their children spend time with Jen – saying she had no desire to feud with the woman who stole her husband after five years of marriage. However, she did tell American Vogue that what Angelina did was “very uncool”, referencing the fact Angelina had said her children –
Maddox, 18, Pax, 16, and Sahara, 15, Shiloh, 14, and 11-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – could see where their parents fell in love by watching the movie Mr and Mrs Smith, filmed while Brad and Jen were still together.
But as time has gone on, and with Jen now focusing on becoming a mother herself via adoption, pals say any bitterness is all in the past. “Jen still wants Brad’s help as she navigates the adoption process, as his support is invaluable. She’s unsure how the land lies with Angelina, but if there’s any way of smoothing things over and making life easier, she’ll do it,” adds the source.
