POSH’S PLAN TO BECOME ‘THE PERFECT HOUSEWIFE’
He’s been showing off his impressive culinary skills during lockdown – whipping up roast dinners and homemade pasta for his family – and David Beckham’s latest talent is set to land him his own cookery show.
The ex-footballer – who’s been inspired by close friend and The F Word chef Gordon Ramsay – is reportedly in talks with Netflix and the BBC to host a new cookery show. And insiders reveal his wife Victoria, 46, is hoping it’s a chance for the couple to bond in the kitchen as well as cement a “wholesome image”, following backlash over her nowreversed decision to use taxpayers’ money to shore up her struggling fashion label.
The source says, “Vic loves the idea of David becoming the next celeb chef – cooking meals for their family while she plays the perfect housewife. She feels, with the negativity surrounding them recently, it’ll be good to open up their home and show a more relatable side.”
The mum of four has adopted a more “homely” image since lockdown – calling marigolds her “new best friend” and donning shorts and slippers to reveal her work-from-home style. Meanwhile, David, 45, recently took to Instagram to share a snap of eight-year-old Harper “planting daddy’s coriander” in the garden of their Cotswolds home, while giving fans a glimpse of their state-ofthe-art kitchen as he and Posh made a lemon drizzle cake.
In recent weeks, Posh has faced criticism over business decisions, with her reportedly claiming it’s been “the worst time” of her life. And while sources say she has been shaken by the adverse publicity, David’s support has only strengthened their bond. The pair were said to have “vowed to spend more time together” after hitting back at “nonsense” claims a divorce was imminent in 2018.
And with Posh’s fashion empire mounting up £45m of losses, she is hoping David’s next career move will help reinstate their power-couple status. It’s been said that Gordon Ramsay, 53, wants to use his production company, Studio 99, to make the series. The source adds, “Vic feels it will show her marriage is stronger than ever. Even though this is David’s venture, she’s aware it could have a knock-on benefit to her own career.”
