‘Create a supportive environment with both parents’

-

A seemingly perfect example of a modern blended family, Demi Moore, Bruce Willis and his new wife Emma Heming grinned as they posed for a picture while celebrating Father’s Day with their kids last month. But while Bruce and Demi may seem like the poster family for life after divorce, it hasn’t been an easy ride for Hollywood’s former golden couple. They married in 1987 and had three daughters – Rumer, 32, Scout, 29, and Tallulah, 26. But things went sour when they announced their divorce amid rumours of raging rows and accusations of affairs on both sides. Demi’s subsequent relationship with now ex Ashton Kutcher – 15 years her junior – caused friction between Demi and her daughters, with Rumer revealing her sisters didn’t speak to Demi for three years. Meanwhile, Bruce moved on with model Emma, 42, and had two more daughters.

But in lockdown it’s become clear that everyone has worked hard to create one big happy family. Initially, Demi, 57, Bruce, 65, and their three daughters stayed together at his home in Idaho while wife Emma and their daughters Mabel, eight, and Evelyn, five, remained in LA due to Evelyn needing medical treatment there. But six weeks on, everyone has merged together, tallying with what Demi has previously admitted, “[The split] wasn’t easy at first, but we managed to move the heart of our relationship, the heart of what created our family, into something new that gave the girls a loving, supportive environment with both parents.”
