Jac turns ‘agony aunt’ to tackle cheating partners
After years of womanising claims made against her husband Dan Osborne, newly confident Jacqueline Jossa has become a source of inspiration for her fans – and pulls no punches when it comes to helping them with their own messy love lives
Their turbulent three-year marriage has been blighted by rumours that husband Dan Osborne has been unfaithful – with Jacqueline Jossa even moving out of their marital home during lockdown and revealing she’d had therapy due to his “mistakes”.
But the actress and mum of two has become an “agony aunt” figure to her loyal fans, after dishing out advice when she was asked for her help to tackle their own relationship woes.
EXPERIENCE
Interacting with her whopping 2.8m followers on an Instagram Q&A last week, Jacqueline,
27 – who shares Ella, five, and Mia, two, with Dan, 28 – carefully chose which questions to answer and tellingly opted to advise many who have also suffered from issues with infidelity in their relationships.
Responding to one fan, who asked, “What should I do if I think my partner is cheating, but I also have?”, Jacqueline replied, “You could do some spying around, I suppose. Or you could cut to the chase and ask him. But it’s not ‘I did this so you deserve that’ tit for tat – just because you made a mistake doesn’t mean that he’s now allowed to.”
Many fans pointed out that it is a situation Jacqueline could have found herself in, due to historic reports of her husband’s alleged philandering, with comments such as, “It’s sad to think she has taken this from her own experience”, and, “Although no doubt an expert on the subject by now she should practice what she preaches.”
ALLEGATIONS
Before entering I’m A Celeb! last year and being crowned Queen Of The Jungle, Jacqueline insisted she wanted to “change the public’s opinion” of her being a “doormat” by staying with her husband – later insisting, “It’s been two years of me basically giving him hell.
It’s not like he got away lightly. He knows he’s done wrong.”
In 2018, it was reported that Jacqueline had messaged a woman on Twitter to ask if she’d slept with Dan during a night out in Essex.
Not long after, Dan was linked to Love Island’s Gabby Allen, when pictures emerged of them looking cosy on a yacht in Marbella – but the pair strongly denied allegations of a fling. Gaby told Closer last year that, following the claims, Jacqueline had called her asking for “the truth”, with Gabby insisting nothing had happened But Jacqueline’s stint on I’m A Celeb! was overshadowed by Celebrity Big Brother stars Natalie Nunn and Chloe Ayling’s claims that they had enjoyed a threesome with Dan on a night out in 2018, which he denied.
Also during her time in the jungle, the former EastEnders star made her own investigation into her husband’s conduct by confronting her campmate, Myles Stephenson, on the way to a Bushtucker Trial and asking if he knew about an alleged romance between his ex,
Gabby, and Dan. While Myles never publicly disclosed the
IT WON’T BE THE END OF YOUR LIFE, YOU’LL BE ABLE TO SMILE AGAIN AND MOVE ON
information he gave Jacqueline, he later revealed he had “told her the truth” about “hurtful messages” he claimed he had found from Dan on Gabby’s phone after they left CBB in 2018.
BREATHING SPACE
During the same Q&A last week, when asked by a fan, “I really want to leave my partner but I have nothing without him – no money, no house – and we have 2 kids,” Jacqueline admitted the situation made her “totally sad”, and urged
“You have to find a way to make it [leaving] happen if you’re not happy.” She advised the fan to move in with her parents – seemingly in a nod to what she had done just weeks previously, when she moved out of her marital home in Essex and in to her parents’ house in Kent, after admitting to “struggling” during lockdown and needing “some time and breathing space.”
During the lengthy reply, Jacqueline seemed to deploy a newfound inner strength, as she added, “Make sure that you talk to people who love you and support you. It won’t be the end of your life, you’ll be able to smile again and move on. Start something for you... create a business or find a way to make your own money so you’re never in that position again.”
The star has reportedly banked £1.2m since her stint in the jungle in December, thanks to TV appearances, endorsements and her best-selling In The Style clothing range. Meanwhile,
Dan has admitted to falling on harder times recently. Last week, the former TOWIE star – whose company Storms Entertainment has debts of £7,469 – told fans he was advertising products more on Instagram as a result of being “hit hard financially by the pandemic”, adding, “Just because you were on TV once, doesn’t make you rich.”
Friends have previously told Closer that Jac’s more no-nonsense attitude within her marriage has stemmed from the public support she’s received during and since leaving the jungle, with her cousin Ciara Asherwood telling us, “She has grown in confidence and she’s really happy.”
SELF-RESPECT
When the couple met at an awards show in 2013, Jacqueline was an up-and-coming soap star who stayed relatively offradar, while Dan was the latest reality hunk to hit the big time. But last month, a source told Closer the tables had turned, with her being one of the most in-demand names in the UK and him struggling with his personal training business during lockdown. The source said, “Jac has always had self-respect, but she’s really grown in confidence. She knows her own mind and is very much the one wearing the trousers. Dan has his say, but he knows Jac is incredibly hardworking and the breadwinner, and will do whatever she can to keep her family financially secure and happy.” However, when asked whether Jac would leave Dan – as she had advised her fan to last week – the source said, “She will never make a rash move because she’s measured and calm and knows what’s best for her and her family.”
