Unless you’ve been through it, it’s impossible to imagine how hard it must be for Kate Garraway and her children to go about daily life without their beloved husband and father by their side, who, as Closer went to press, was still suffering from COVID-19-related complicati­ons. Kate’s been so brave, and talking about it will have helped many people for whom this pandemic has been personally heartbreak­ing. This week, we’ve also spoken to single mum Katie Waisell, who was terrified she was going to die – leaving her two-year-old son behind.
