ANTHEA FLASHES NEW RING AFTER WEDDING SETBACK
She’s had to postpone her autumn wedding due to the pandemic, but Anthea Turner was still in high spirits when pictured wearing a new ring on her wedding finger on a romantic day out with fiancé Mark Armstrong.
The TV presenter, 60, beamed as she walked through London hand-in-hand with business tycoon Mark, 55, wearing a band of diamonds on her fourth finger – different from the diamond engagement ring she’d been seen with previously.
The pair had been gearing up to tie the knot in a picturesque Italian wedding this summer – but lockdown scuppered their plans to visit venues in March, so they decided to push it on a year. Speaking of the postponement, Anthea told Closer last month, “This wedding is going to be very low-key – nothing big, just something pretty and small in Italy. That’s the reason I’m not very traumatised that it’s had to move – and the fact that nothing had been booked! It gives us more time to think about what we want, too.”
Anthea’s wedding to Mark – who she has called the “love of my life” – will be her third, after having an eight-year marriage to DJ Peter Powell in the ’90s, and then marrying businessman Grant Bovey in 2000, to whose daughters Lily, Amelia and Claudia she became stepmum. They divorced in 2015 after Grant had an affair.
She met Mark through mutual friends at a private members’ club in 2019 and the couple became engaged after just five months of dating, with Mark proposing in September on a trip to Rome.
The couple moved into Mark’s Chelsea home together in March – and Anthea told Closer that lockdown has made her realise he is definitely The One.
She says, “If it wasn’t meant to be with me and Mark, I think it would definitely have shown up in lockdown! But it’s been brilliant. We just get on so well, and that’s why it hasn’t been difficult. I think Mark’s quite good with me. He lets me get annoyed if I am annoyed, and then just laughs.”
