Georgia: “I feel so much more confident with my new boobs”

Reality star Georgia Harrison talks exclusively to Closer about her recent breast enhancement and her years of battling body hang-ups

She was the picture of confidence on Love Island, hanging out by the pool in tiny swimwear that showed off her gym-honed figure.

But Georgia Harrison admits she hasn’t always felt as happy in her own skin as she appeared. She battled body insecurities for years, after weight loss changed the size and shape of her breasts. And, last month, Georgia took the plunge and had a breast enlargement – boosting her bra size from a 32B to a 32C.

She says, “I’d see myself on TV wearing swimwear and think, ‘Oh, my boobs don’t look good’, and it made me feel very self-conscious. It started to limit what I’d wear – it had to be padded tops or tops that weren’t cut too low.”

And Georgia – who has appeared on TOWIE, Celebrity Ex On The Beach, and MTV’s The Challenge, as well as the 2017 series of

Love Island, which she left with Sam Gowland, although they later split – says she couldn’t be happier with the results of her surgery.

SURGERY

“I already feel more confident in myself.

I’ve spent half my life wearing the biggest padded bras, socks down there, the lot!” she laughs. “I only went up a cup size, so it’s subtle, and my boobs still look in proportion with the rest of my body. I did it for myself and the main reason was to have more confidence naked. I’m not seeing anyone right now, but I’ll be much more confident in the bedroom

with a man now I’ve had surgery.”

But she insists she didn’t take the decision to go under the knife lightly. “I did a lot of research and met with multiple surgeons before choosing my doctor. The pain wasn’t as bad as I expected, but it was the first time I’d had a general anaesthetic and, for at least three days afterwards, I felt drained.”

Georgia had been considering surgery for several years after losing around 3.5st left her with sagging skin and stretch marks on her breasts, but she was careful not to rush into making a decision.

“I wanted to wait until I was older and my body stopped growing,” explains Georgia, who is 5ft7. “I’m around 8.5st now, but when I was about 19 I was nearer 12st and my boobs were a lot bigger. I was working abroad and had a really unhealthy lifestyle, and I’d drink and just eat junk. But over the years,

I changed my approach and wanted to start eating better, training more and being careful with how I treated my body. I slowly lost weight over three or four years and have maintained it since. But when my weight dropped a bit, so did my boobs. It looked like there was space to fill. I also had a problem with inverted nipples that I wanted to fix.”

TROLLS

Being on high-profile reality shows, and with more than 1m followers on Instagram alone, Georgia admits she’s learned to take the good with the bad when it comes to strangers having opinions about her appearance.

“I’ve had some awful comments from trolls – ‘You’ve got small boobs, you’re too fat, you’re too thin, you’re too fake’ – everything! But I didn’t let that influence this decision whatsoever. I had the surgery for myself. Some of my closest friends, like Olivia Attwood, have had their boobs done – and I think they look amazing. It was more a case of, ‘I wouldn’t mind a pair of those!’ rather than feeling pressure to look a certain way.” she says.

“If I acted on every comment, I’d have to change everything about myself. I expect that when people find out I’ve had surgery,

I’ll get, ‘You’ve ruined yourself’. But it’s easier

‘I’ve been on a couple of dates recently – but no winners!’

to knock away those comments when you feel happy in yourself.”

Georgia admits to having fillers in the past, but now she’s had her boob job, she insists she’s not planning more cosmetic work any time soon.

“I’ve only ever had lip filler and, to be honest, I don’t think there’s anything else I could possibly want. Maybe when I’m a lot older I would, but not in the next ten years.

It’s not something I’d want to get addicted to – you see a lot of women having multiple surgeries and boob jobs, and you think, ‘You’re going to end up scarring your body.’”

So, does Georgia’s new-found body confidence mean she’s ready for romance?

“I’ve been on a couple of dates recently, but no winners!” she says. “I’d love to meet someone, but it’s not something I worry about too much. Now I’m older, I realise you can’t choose when you meet ‘The One’, but I’d like to be with someone a bit older, who’s business driven. If he’s not funny, there’s no chance!”
