Posh fears her cosy lockdown is over

As David Beckham appoints a new “right hand woman” and gears up to head back to Miami, his wife Victoria is worried their love bubble is about to burst

-

They’ve worked hard to regain their powercouple crown in recent months – appearing more loved-up than ever on social media during lockdown, as they gave fans a deeper insight into the chemistry and camaraderie, which has cemented their 21-year marriage.

RESTRICTIONS

But insiders say Posh, 46 – aka Victoria Beckham – fears that life is about to change with David, 45, due to head back to Miami – where they recently bought a £45m penthouse – within weeks to oversee his MLS soccer team, Inter Miami.

The football star has also just hired 31-year-old socialite and former party planner, LouLou Dundas, to be his new “righthand woman” and head up his communications team at his business empire, DB ventures.

The source says, “Victoria has loved spending so much time with David over the last few months. In all their years of marriage, it’s the longest they’ve spent quality time together and it’s been a dream – there’s been no arguments, just a lot of fun and relaxation, which has really put the spark back between them.

“It felt like they really turned a corner. She’s repeatedly told friends that she feels more connected to him than ever and she feels like they’re honeymooners again.”

But now, David, with

LouLou by his side, will return to the US. And although the Beckhams are used to splitting their time across the Atlantic, pandemic restrictions mean they’ll be unable to fly back and forth regularly.

INSECURE

The source adds, “LouLou has been brought in because she is well known on the circuit for her party planning, and it will bode well for his brands, such as Haig Club Whisky, going forward. Of course, that means David will be attending more events, as he is the host.

“While Vic’s thrilled at what that will do for his business, she’s also slightly sad that their cosy home life could be derailed as he gets thrust back into a world of parties and networking – especially as she will likely remain at their family home in London.”

Upon David’s new hiring, one writer said LouLou – a former student of a £37,000-a-year private school and the daughter of Lord Bruce Dundas – “could make even Posh Spice feel a little insecure socially”.

And while insiders insist that isn’t true, they admit that Posh is slightly sorry that her appointment marks the end of her and David’s time together in such close proximity.

They say, “Lockdown was great for their marriage because they didn’t have any outside worries, influences or stresses – it was just them and the kids, which really made them reconnect with another.

“She isn’t really a big party animal and big events aren’t her thing – plus she will be in London while David is socialising and building his empire in Miami, so naturally she is fearful it could put an emotional distance between them again.”

Since lockdown, the pair – who share Brooklyn, 21, Romeo, 17, Cruz, 15 and nineyear-old Harper together – have seemed stronger than ever. They frequently gave fans glimpses into their family life as they isolated at their Cotswolds mansion – gardening and baking with the kids, enjoying family walks with their dog and poking fun at each other.

And giving further insight into their loving marriage last week, the beauty mogul revealed David’s support of her business ventures during an Instagram Live as she called him her “best model” and revealed how he “loves” using her face creams.

It’s a stark contrast to just two years ago, in 2018, when they were subject to speculation of an impending divorce, which both Posh and David furiously denied as a “crock of s**t”.

INFURIATED

The rumours came after they were pictured looking tense together on a number of occasions, including at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, when David seemingly ignored his wife as she held out her hand to him.

The fashion designer was reportedly infuriated by David’s nights out with the likes of model Poppy Delevingne and “wild socialite” Lady Mary

Charteris, with his best pal, Dave Gardener, while he appeared to turn his back to her while he spoke to popstar Rita Ora at a fashion event.

She was also said to have been left “crying for two days” after the ex-footballer described marriage as “hard work”.

But since then, any tension between the pair has subsided as they’ve shown off their fun side, with the pair putting on an amorous display on the dance floor at Glastonbury festival last summer, before displaying more rare PDAs on holiday weeks later.

And sources say that, although Posh likes and approves of LouLou, she is also slightly jealous that she won’t be the one by David’s side throughout his new ventures.

“While Vic is at home, LouLou is likely to be the one helping out and supporting all the big events,” explains the source. “And although

Vic is busy doing her own thing, she always likes to be by David’s side, too, and is a little disappointed that she will have to hand that baton over to someone else for a while.”
