‘Infidelity is an absolute deal-breaker’

-

TV personality Vanessa Feltz,

58, was “shocked to the core” 20 years ago when she discovered her thenhusband, Dr Michael Kurer, had allegedly been unfaithful.

The star – who has two daughters with her ex of 16 years – believes cheating is

“an absolute deal-breaker” and that relationships are “irreparable” once the trust between a couple is broken.

She says, “In my opinion, cheating is an absolute dealbreaker. It’s sharing a secret with someone else, and keeping your partner in the dark – it’s treacherous and a betrayal. I just don’t think you can ever bounce back from that. The sacred bond of trust between two people in a marriage has been severed, and I think once it’s broken, it’s irreparable.

“If you let it go and try to forget it ever happened, it’s giving your partner absolutely no consequences for their actions. But if you stay together and try to rebuild what you had, it’s inevitable that you’ll want to punish them and that can build resentment.”

The star – who is now divorced and happily engaged to singer Ben Ofoedu, 48 – added, “The whole thing is terrible. I wouldn’t be able to let it go. Any normal woman in a relationship with kids who sees their husband parading around with a gorgeous younger woman would feel heartbroken and humiliated.

“We don’t know what arrangements have been made, if any, between Catherine and Dominic in terms of their marriage, or the ins and outs. But whatever the situation is between the two of them, there will no doubt be a lot of misery.”
