J-Lo turns to ex Marc after A-Rod split
As the A-list pair reveal they’ve called it quits following infidelity rumours, insiders say Jennifer Lopez is being supported by her ex, Marc Anthony

They finally confirmed reports their twoyear engagement was over last week, and insiders tell Closer the shock decision came as Jennifer Lopez felt she could no longer trust her fiancé, Alex Rodriguez.
The Love Don’t Cost A Thing singer, 51, and Alex 45 – known as A-Rod – released a joint statement, which read, “We have realised we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so.”
Hours before the announcement, the former baseball star posted a video tribute on Instagram which featured pictures of the couple in happier times. The dad-of-two’s emotional post also included a snap of the names of their combined four children written in sand inside a heart which was overlaid to Coldplay’s hit, Fix You – which lead singer, Chris Martin, penned for his then-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow.

And a source tells Closer that the final decision to go their separate ways was down to
J-Lo – after the couple were hit by reports that A-Rod had been secretly texting US reality star Madison LeCroy, 30, following previous allegations of infidelity which had cast a cloud over their relationship.
The insider says, “They’ve had weeks of intense crisis talks, but Jen felt she was left with no choice but to walk away.
“Ultimately, she couldn’t turn a blind eye to the allegations which sparked deep-rooted trust issues between them.
“Alex insisted he’d do whatever it took to make things work but, unfortunately, Jen didn’t feel it was possible. She knew she couldn’t continue papering over the cracks and pretending everything was OK.”
After the reports last month, Madison confessed she and A-Rod had “spoken on the phone” but “never met up” and had “never been physical”. Reacting to their split announcement last week, she said, “I wish them all the best.”
It’s not the first time A-Rod has faced infidelity claims during his four-year romance with
Jen. Shortly before their 2019 engagement, former Playboy model, Zoe Gregory, claimed the sports star, who’s dated Cameron Diaz and Kate Hudson in the past, had been sending her raunchy messages and pictures. At the time, Zoe, 45, said, “While getting ready to marry her, he was asking me for sex videos, demanding we hook up and asking me to make arrangements with other girls. girls.”
Further tainting their “fairy-tale” engagement, weeks later his former Yankees team-mate, Jose Canseco, also accused him of cheating on Jen with his ex-wife, Jessica, in a furious Twitter rant, which Alex denied.
And J-Lo seemed to be standing by her man as she defiantly shot-down the “inaccurate” split reports.
DETERMINED
While they admitted to “working through some things”, they went all-out to silence the rumour-mill in recent weeks.
The couple – who delayed their wedding twice last year, blaming the pandemic – were snapped packing on the PDAs after A-Rod jetted into the Dominican Republic where
Jen was shooting her new romcom, Shotgun Wedding, and they have both posted a string of loved-up snaps together on their social media.
However, she did hint at her heartbreak weeks back. The thrice-divorced star – who was married to waiter Ojani Noa from 1997-98, dancer Cris Judd from 2001-2003, and actor Marc Anthony from 2004-14, dad of her twins Emme and Max, 13 – posted an emotional Instagram pic of Emme crying on Marc’s shoulder.
Jen – who also had a highprofile failed engagement to actor Ben Affleck in 2002 – wrote, “When they are sad but momma and daddy are there.”
And pals say the actress – who has remained amicable with Marc since their split – has been turning to her ex for support.
The source says, “Marc’s been Jen’s rock over the last couple of weeks, he’s been there for her 24/7 – FaceTiming and texting whenever she needs to talk and constantly checking in on her to make sure she’s OK. They both want the best for each other, because of course that benefits their kids, too.”
And despite her pain over the split, Jen is determined to put on a brave face and focus on the future with her children.
The source adds, “Jen’s understandably crushed and while it was her decision to end things, it doesn’t make it any less painful. She’s trying to focus on how much she’s learned and grown as a person in the last four years and says her main priority right now is the children – and that having them by her side will help her come out stronger.”
