As Jordan renovates her old home for her new chapter with boyfriend Carl Woods, pals explain why she still won’t throw away memories from her marriages to Peter Andre and Kieran Hayler
“My exes will always be part of our lives”
Standing in her famous “mucky mansion” beside her boyfriend Carl Woods, Jordan vowed to clean up her former home in a bid to move on from her turbulent past.
The mum-of-five announced earlier this month that she will stay in the £2million Sussex property – which she kept despite being made bankrupt in 2019 – and completely renovate it, even though it holds painful memories for her and her children.
In a YouTube video, Jordan, aka Katie Price – who is currently living in a rented home – said, “Mentally I can come in here at the minute, whereas before I was like ‘get me out, get me out’, but this is the longest I have lasted.”
The property – which has become unliveable after falling into a state of disrepair over the years – is also where the 42-year-old suffered one of the most difficult periods in her life with third husband Kieran Hayler, 34, dad to her youngest children, Jett, seven, and Bunny, six. He admitted to cheating on her in 2014 with her former friend Jane Pountney – the pair had sex in her horse stables – and three years later he had sex with their kids’ nanny “all over the house,” including in the children’s bathroom.
The betrayals, along with the collapse of her engagement to Kris Boyson, 31, contributed to her suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder and led her to self-medicate with drugs and alcohol.
CRUEL BLOW
After checking out of The Priory last summer – shortly before meeting Carl, 32 – Jordan moved into a rented house in a bid to escape the past.
Last week, she was cruelly dealt another blow when her mum Amy – who had regularly stayed in the mansion to help out with the kids and who Jordan describes as her “rock” – was told she has “not got long left to live” due to a terminal lung condition, pulmonary fibrosis, which she was diagnosed with in 2017.
And friends tell Closer that while Jordan is still coming to terms with so much past trauma, she is struggling to throw away some memories that she still holds dear – including of her marriages to Peter Andre, with whom she shares Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, and Kieran.
The source says, “Katie feels she can’t escape her demons when she is in that house. Too many bad things have happened there which is why she wants to completely renovate it and make it her own – hers and Carl’s.
“Yet at the same time, Katie is also an emotional hoarder. She still has things there from her marriages to Pete and Kieran which she refuses to get rid of. They won’t be on main display in the house, but they will be in a shipping container on the property – she just isn’t able to throw them away forever.
Strangely, having things to reflect on is what helps her through the bad times.”
On her fly-on-the-wall documentary, My Crazy Life, in 2017, Jordan revealed how she’s kept her enormous pink wedding dress from her 2005 wedding to Pete – saying she wants to have it “reconditioned”, which is believed to be so that she can wear it again.

Kieran urged her to throw out other mementoes from her wedding to Pete, 48, which she keeps in the storage unit, but she later told the camera,
“If Kieran thinks I’m going to get rid of everything from my own life, he’s got another thing coming.”
And last year on her YouTube video, she showed off a framed photograph of herself and Kieran – who is now expecting a baby with fiancée Michelle Penticost – in her home. Holding up the photo, she told the camera, “Me and Kieran when we did our wedding vows. That’s definitely not leaving this place.”
She then picked up a Jordanbranded hairdryer, adding, “I was with Pete in these days, I was happy… in love.”
But the source insists that despite keeping her stash, Jordan has moved on from her exes and Carl “understands”
why she is keeping parts of her past.
The friend says, “She is more in love with Carl than she has ever been so she doesn’t want to upset him, but her past is a part of what has created her. She’s told him her exes will always be part of their lives.
“She is proud of who she is now – she has weathered a lot in her life and she has come through it stronger than ever, even meeting the man of her dreams. All these items she keeps are reminders of what she has achieved and the obstacles she’s overcome.”
Last week, Jordan revealed that being sexually abused aged seven had left her “weak” with men, adding that her mum now vets all her boyfriends – and approves of Carl.
REVELATION
And in a joint interview,
Amy also confessed that she has “disagreed” with all of her daughter’s surgery – but believes she suffers from body dysmorphia. She said, “Maybe she does it because she doesn’t feel she’s attractive enough, or maybe it’s body dysmorphia. Kate’s had so much trauma in her life. It’s only later you think she’s not OK, she just does a really good job of hiding her feelings.”
Amy’s revelation comes after the former glamour model admitted to having a 13th boob job. And as Closer revealed earlier this month, she’s set to undergo £50k worth of surgery in the lead up to a “dream” wedding to Carl – and she seemingly started the process a few days ago by having her lips done at an Essex clinic.
Psychological therapist Emma Kenny agrees that Jordan’s past trauma – plus the prospect of a future without her mum – is why she finds it so difficult to let go of what she considers her “golden days”.
Emma say, “She holds on to memories of Kieran and Pete because she was with them during some of her happiest times when she had four of her children permanently around her.
“Pete also reminds her of her most successful days – when she was young, beautiful, loved by her husband and the nation, and making lots of money.”
