JEN’S STRATEGIES FOR HEALING A BROKEN HEART
She’s been married and divorced three times – and Jen knows how to cope with the end of a relationship
THERAPY
Following her divorce from Marc in 2014, Jen sought therapy. She said, “I had to re-examine my whole life and regroup. I had waited to have kids [until I was] 38 and I had never wanted to not be with the person I had kids with. I felt that I was not going to give my kids what they needed and I just didn’t know what to do.”
TALKING TO FRIENDS
She also turned to her closest girl pals, saying, “I think I realised they [friends] were as important
– if not more important – when I divorced Marc. I just realised that I had been through that a couple of times and they were still there. Like they say, men come and go, but my girlfriends are always there for me.”
ACCEPTING ADVICE
Jen also accepted advice from older women, explaining, “I was around the people in my life that were older and more experienced that could help me… the experience and the wisdom that they have is so priceless to me.”
