‘Adele’s talked about kids with her new love – he’s even broodier than her!’
Reports have been swirling that Adele is in the throes of a “hot new romance” with Hollywood star Bradley Cooper after being introduced by mutual friend, Lady Gaga.
But while pals have shot down the rumours to Closer, they claim the singer – whose divorce from Simon Konecki, 46, was finalised last month – has in fact quietly found love again with a childhood friend.
A source says, “Adele’s smitten and, while she’s keen to keep his identity under wraps, she’s not hidden her newfound happiness from family and friends.
“The romance came out of the blue while Adele was back home in London last year while lockdown restrictions were eased. Their friendship took an unexpected turn after a boozy night with mutual pals when they both realised they had feelings for each other.
“Given they already had the foundation of a friendship, things progressed quickly and they’re both so happy.”
Since announcing her shock split from charity CEO Simon in April 2019 and shedding 7st thanks to a lifestyle overhaul, the singer has been linked to a string of high-profile musicians including Harry Styles, Drake and rapper, Skepta.
And pals say the notoriously private star – who shares eight-year-old son Angelo with her equally low-key ex, who she secretly wed in 2018 – is relieved to have met someone away from the spotlight. The source says, “While
Adele has a lot of celebrity friends, the thought of being in a relationship with another star and all the attention that would come with it, is something that fills her with dread. Keeping her relationships out of the public eye is incredibly important to her, just as it is to her new man, so that’s something connecting them even more.”
In 2016, the London-born star told fans she was longing for more kids. “My womb is starting to ache a little bit,” she admitted at a concert in Nashville. “It’s like, ‘Baby, baby, baby. Need a baby, need a baby. I’m not pregnant. I won’t get pregnant until the end of the tour.”
And while it’s still early days with her new man, insiders say the couple have already spoken about starting a family together.
The pal says, “Adele’s never hidden the fact she wants more children and she’s said her new boyfriend is even broodier.”
And friends say the Grammywinning star – who shares joint custody of Angelo and currently splits her time between LA and London – is keen to make the UK her more permanent base after finding love again.
The insider adds, “The pandemic put things into perspective for Adele and, with Angelo’s dad and her boyfriend being in the UK, it’s prompted her to reassess her priorities.”
