Episode two of the fab new series certainly pulls on the heart strings… Trixie’s still at the posh Lady Emily clinic, caring for a new mum she made friends with last week, who’s been rushed in following a collapse at home. Tests are ordered and the scenes when we find out what’s wrong with the poor woman are pretty harrowing. Back at Nonnatus House it’s all about “groovy magazines” for the “woman about town”, and while Mother Mildred may be giving the nuns a dressing down in her letters for even considering a “dripdry fabric” for the new uniforms, Sister Frances can’t get enough of the problem pages.
