‘Jess and I are friends – I didn’t fancy Dan!’
Tamara Joy was humiliated after her “husband” Dan Webb began a secret affair with Jessika Power – yet remarkably, the women are now close friends.
Jess tells us Tamara’s been her “rock” through her split from Filip – and even says she was “good to her” after her breakup with Dan. And she doesn’t hold a grudge over Dan.
Tamara, 32, explains, “Jess and I have no issues now. We became friends because I became friends with her brother Rhys, so that broke the ice for us. Jess made it clear that she regrets her actions on the show and I don’t hold resentment towards her.”
However, Tamara and Dan are no longer in contact – but Tamara insists she wasn’t heartbroken by his cheating as she didn’t fancy him. She says, “Looks-wise, Dan was what I was after, even though I didn’t find him attractive. He was my type physically, but he’s too Aussie. He sounds like a trucker. I didn’t fancy him, but having him cheat on me on national TV sucked. I was embarrassed because I had no idea. Even when I watched it back, it triggered me. I was just like, ‘I can’t believe I got so upset’, but it was because of the betrayal rather than my feelings for Dan.”
Now, she says she would have been better matched to “hilarious, lovely” Nic – who was married to Cyrell – or Mike – matched with Heidi – who she describes as
“one of my favourites”.
UK MAFS is set to return later this year after a shakeup to make it as explosive as the Aussie version, even poaching one of its relationship experts, Mel Schilling.
And Tamara, who has been single since the show, is also keen to make a move to the UK. She says, “British guys are my weakness. I’d love to be over in the UK – I might even find my husband. Any takers? I’m ready!”
