‘I can’t wait to be a grandmother!’

As The Apprentice returns, Karren Brady, 54, reveals the secrets of her youthful looks as she prepares for the arrival of her first grandchild

-

After raking in an average of 6.54 million viewers per episode last year, The Apprentice is back for its 18th series. And helping guide the 18 hopeful entrepreneurs to victory and a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar is the legendary Baronness Karren Brady, CBE.

GLAMOROUS

Thrilled to be back, Karren, 54, tells Closer, “The Apprentice is such a fantastic show that I’m so proud to be involved in. The whole team behind it are excellent and we’ve had some really worthy winners in the past who have gone on to do great things.”

A strong businesswoman from a young age, Karren began her career in advertising before becoming the Managing Director of Birmingham City F.C. at the age of just 23. Eventually, after appearing as a celebrity contestant on The Apprentice’s Comic Relief spin-off in 2007, Karren became a guest interviewer on the show for series five, before replacing Margaret Mountford as Lord Sugar’s assistant in 2009.

Now believed to be worth around

£90 million, Karren – who earned a CBE in 2014 for services to entrepreneurship and women in business – looks just as glamorous as she did 15 years ago, something she credits celebrity make-up artist Mikey Phillips – who has worked with Love Island stars like Olivia Attwood and Liberty Poole – and hairstylist Mikey Dash with.

Karren has also revealed that she uses non-surgical treatments such as Hydrafacials to maintain her youthful look, saying, “I’ve never had any surgery, but I have a lot of treatments. I don’t do fillers as that terrifies me, but I do have lots of laser facials.

“I’ve had a bit of Botox in the past, but I do like my forehead to move and I can’t stand that rubber-faced look.”

As a result, it’s hard to believe that Karren is set to become a grandmother this year, after her daughter, Sophia, 26, announced that she was expecting her first child with her fiancé, Frankie Makin, in November.

HANDS ON

Speaking about the exciting announcement on Loose Women, Karren shared, “When your baby is having a baby, it’s just an incredible feeling. Sophia is so kindspirited, she’ll be a wonderful mother.”

When asked if she’ll be hands on, she laughed, “Oh, wild horses couldn’t keep me away!”

Karren also shares son Paolo, 22, with her husband of 29 years, former footballer Paul Peschisolido.

Opening up about the secret to their successful marriage, Karren has said, “My husband is my best friend… We’ve always been there for each other and supported one another.

“What we have in common is the complete love for both of our children, and their health and wellbeing is at the centre of everything we do.”
