CRUISE THE GLACIAL FJORDS OF NORWAY AND DISCOVER THEIR ANCIENT FOLKLORE

Sail on the comfortable small ship Balmoral through some of Norway’s most jaw-dropping natural scenery with all meals included

-

Sailing through Norway’s beautiful glacial fjords, spotting snowcapped mountains, crashing waterfalls, an abundance of wildlife and tiny fishing villages caught in time, is an experience like no other.

On this incredible six-day cruise you’ll travel through the country’s fjordland scenery - look forward to sailing through Nordfjord, one of Europe’s longest fjords. You’ll see incredible ancient glaciers too, including the Jostedalsbreen, the largest on the European mainland with around 50 glacier arms.

You’ll have the chance to hike to the Briksdal Glacier with a local geologist, visit the intriguing islands of Giske and Godøy, and discover troll folklore on tours of Trollveggan and Trollstigen.

You’ll be sailing on board the comfortable small ship Balmoral, and due to its small size you’ll also be treated to a special diversion to cruise the Langfjord and Eresfjord - only possible on smaller vessels - to witness verdant valleys and towering peaks.

REASONS TO BOOK

Spectacular glaciers

On a visit to the charming village of Olden you’ll be able to see the magnificent Jostedalsbreen, the largest glacier in continental Europe.

It splits into several arms -one being the ancient Briksdal Glacier - which you’ll be able to hike to from Olden with an expert local geologist, learning more about these incredible formations as you take in the views.

Comfortable ship

Your home from home will be the small ship Balmoral. The smallest ship in Fred Olsen’s fleet, Balmoral offers six beautiful restaurants, seven bars and lounges, two pools and lovely wide open decks which are perfect for soaking in glorious views of the Norwegian fjords.

Explore smaller fjords

As well as the large fjords like Nordfjord and Romsdalsfjord, you’ll get to sail into smaller bodies of water like Langfjorden and Eresfjorden, which are lesser-known, but equally spectacular.

Scenic diversions into these fjords

offer views of mountains, tiny fjord-edge villages and tree-covered valleys that would be unthinkable on larger vessels.
