What program will help me print large photos at home?

-

QI am a keen photographer, and would like to print my best photos at large sizes for framing. My home printer is good but it only goes up to A4. I hit upon the idea of printing separate sheets then joining them, but it’s very fiddly to do using photo-editing software. I’d rather not pay for professional printing. Can you help? AA few websites claim to do this job for free. Block Posters ( www.blockposters.com) is the best known. It’s easy to use, but it adds a watermark to your prints unless you pay a few pounds to remove it. Given that you’re printing your own photos, we doubt you’ll want ugly company branding slapped all over them.

So instead, use the great program Easy Poster Printer ( www.snipca.com/24848), which is free, and doesn’t require you to upload your photos to the internet. Just drag your photo on to the program window, then choose your output size (up to a staggering 20x20 metres) and then configure resolution, orientation, trimming (‘Cut-lines’) and so on. You can preview any changes you make in the program window before printing (see screenshot), and the program automatically detects your printer. It uses a ‘super resample algorithm’ to ensure print quality is the best possible, and stores recent photos so you can return to them. You can also now add customised text to the photo, which is great for turning photos into posters for family birthdays and other celebrations.

Easy Poster Printer has just been updated to version 6.8, which sounds like a minor release but is actually the first new version since Windows 10. Scroll down the page then click Download Now to get the installer, which is junk-free.
