What can I use to combine two video files?

QI have some video files in MP4 format that were produced from a DVD of some old 8mm home movies. I’d like to join two of the files together and save the combined video separately. Is there a built-in way to do this in Windows 10 or can you suggest a simple video-editing program that can?

AYou can easily combine two MP4 files into one video by using the Photos app in Windows 10. This saves you having to download a video-editing program, which may have lots of advanced features that makes it confusing to use.

Open the Photos app from the Start menu and click the Video Editor tab in the top-left corner. Click the ‘New video project’ button and give your video a name. Next, click the Add button, choose ‘From this PC’ and select the MP4 files you want to merge.

Drag the imported files to the Storyboard section at the bottom of the Photo window – or select them and click ‘Place in the storyboard’ – and rearrange them if necessary. You can edit the clips by clicking Trim and adjusting the start and end points; add a title card and text captions; and apply filters and effects. Play the preview of your video to make sure everything looks the way you want.

Once you’re happy with your combined video, click the ‘Finish video’ button in the top-right corner (see screenshot) and select the quality to save it at – High (1080p) is recommended. Click ‘Export’, then Export again to save your previously separate MP4 files as a single merged video.

Alternatively, download the free program MP4 Tools from www.snipca.com/43503. This has an MP4 Joiner feature that lets you join and save MP4 videos in only a few clicks.
