Amazon launches new Fire TV sets – starting at £250

-

Amazon is now selling its new batch of Fire TVS in the UK, after launching them last year in the US.

There are nine models available, across three series. The cheapest TV (www.snipca.com/45486, pictured), part of Amazon’s 2-Series, costs £250 and has a 32in high-definition (1280x720) screen.

The other TV in the 2-Series costs £300 and has a 40in Full HD (1920x1080) screen.

There are three TVS in the 4-Series, priced from £430 for a 43in 4K Ultra HD (3840x2160) screen, to £550 for 55 inches.

The most expensive series is Omni QLED, with four models ranging from £550 for a 43in 4K Ultra screen to £1,000 for 65 inches.

All four Omni TVS have Adaptive Brightness, which detects the room’s light level and changes the screen’s brightness to suit it.

They also offer Amazon’s ‘Ambient Experience’ feature, which transforms the screen when not streaming TV into a personal display for your photos and music.

Additionally, they have Alexa Widgets, giving you “glanceable information to keep you informed throughout the day”, such as calendars and reminders.

You can leave notes on screen for others to see, and control smart devices like a thermostat or the Ring doorbell.

All 4-series TVS have an Alexa Voice Remote, letting you control them by speaking into it. The Omni TVS have a microphone built in, so you can speak commands without having to pick up the remote control.

The 2-Series and 4-Series TVS are on sale now, along with the 65in Omni QLED TV. The other three Omni TVS will go on sale on 1 June.
