Cornwall Life - - THE DIARY -

The hardy (or should that be foolhardy?!) folk who take to the water on Christmas Day generally do so for good causes. In North Cornwall the beneficiary is Bude

Surf Life Saving Club, founded in 1953 making it the oldest SLSC in the country. Around 500 swimmers take part, and several thousand line the waterfront at Crooklets Beach in Bude to watch. There is full lifeguard cover and hot refreshments for participants. If you raise more than £30 in sponsorship you get a free souvenir T shirt.
