Pronounced ‘hue-gah’, it’s about taking joy in life’s little pleasures. Which means pretty much anything can be hygge. Allowing yourself a guilt-free Greggs Steak Bake? Hygge. A duvet day with back-to-back Gilmore Girls? Hygge. Lighting a candle? So hygge. Bonus points if any of these are done in front of a roaring fire. Denmark has just been voted the happiest country in the world*, so it’s worth taking note and getting hygge with it.
