THE PEAK OF HEALTH The low-fat treat for high achievers

-

The epitome of fresh-faced health, skyr (pronounced ‘skeer’), a tangy dairy hybrid – part cheese, part yoghurt – is high in protein (around 16.5g per serving*, almost triple that of Greek yoghurt) and low in sugar and fat (only 0.3g, compared to Greek yoghurt’s 13.8g), and has become the fridge essential of every Nordic wellness warrior worth her salt. Switch up your power breakfast – it’s best to eat skyr in the morning and make the most of its mega protein hit – by spreading it over Ryvita with a dash of hot sauce, soaking your breakfast oats in it overnight ready for the morning, or go one step further with a skyr omelette (mix the skyr with garlic, salt and pepper and spoon it down the middle, halfway through frying the eggs). Avo on toast can wait.
