one or, whisper it, the loss of who you are and who you set out to become. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: use adversity to your advantage. See it as a gift not a grind; as friend not foe. Obstacles are life’s way of throwing you a rope – not to trip you over, but to lift you up. By going through them (or round them – because that’s totally OK too), you will uncover reserves of grit you never knew you had, courage you believed only others possessed and strength that had been there all along but was waiting in the wings for the right moment to step forward. Twohey and Kantor discovered this when they finally published their damning piece on Weinstein on 5th October 2017. But they also discovered something else in the process: that leading by example helped other people step forward with their own stories of abuse at the hands of powerful giants. They pulled the first brick, but together we can all help pull down the wall.
