BLING IT ON The KiraKira app ain’t got nothing on you

A flash of sparkle and the KiraKira app go together like chips and dips

1 PARTING WAYS DIFFICULTY: 1/3 Potentially a little too much for your big shop at Tesco, but there’s no denying that wearing diamantes along your parting and across your lips will add some serious sparkle to proceedings. “I love the simplicity of stripped-back, glowing skin paired with strips of rhinestones,” says make-up artist Sara Hill. Pick them up at any good haberdashery or online – or you could just raid your Dolly Parton-loving auntie’s sewing box. She’s bound to have some. “I find it easier to use tweezers to apply onto lips and along the hairline,” says Hill.“And use eyelash glue to stick them on. I prefer using a non-latex formula, because it’s better for sensitive skin.” Simple, but oh-so-effective.

2 GLITTER BOMB DIFFICULTY: 2/3 The prettiest, but also the messiest, glitter explosion. Mastering this will take patience, but it’ll be worth it when the likes roll in. “Apply a very small amount of Dr PawPaw Original Balm with a flat brush, then pat glitter on top,” says Hill. “I stick Post-it notes under eyes to catch any fall-out.” Buff a little highlighter onto cheekbones to add another dimension – there’s no such thing as too much glow.

3 HEY, STUD DIFFICULTY: 2/3

If subtle is more your style, opt for this simple, studded look that was seen on the Jeremy Scott S/S 18 catwalk. “Warm-toned shimmer eyeshadows are a great substitute for boring greys and blacks, and the addition of coordinating studs – you can buy them online from Ebay – under the eyes gives a sexy, hard edge,” says Hill. “Like before, use latex-free lash glue on the back of each stud. Wait for it to go tacky before you press the studs in place, and apply with your fingers – unlike the first look, tweezers can make things fiddly.” Need the look to last the long haul? Might be worth carrying a few spare studs and some glue in your bag, too. You know, just in case.
