Take the dried-in salt-spray base from our ‘Texas braid’ look and just add heat. “The key is to clamp each strand of hair with a medium to large barrel tong, rubbing it in a gentle horizontal motion for 10 seconds to create a dent,” explains Massi. “Then, for the section directly below it, flip the barrel so you’re clamping the opposite side of the strand, continuing to alternate all the way down to the ends for a subtle ripple effect.”
