1 CITY SLICKER
DIFFICULTY: 1/3 If you’re looking for a way to keep those pesky flyaways at bay, this glossy-posse look might be the answer. Virtue Labs’ creative director Adir Abergel gives us the lowdown on how to recreate the sleek look seen on the catwalk at Ann Demeulemeester’s A/W 18 show.“Start by scrunching a handful of mousse throughout your hair, then combing a second handful just through the top, leaving the texture at the back a little more natural,” says Abergel. Comb the hair back over the head and tuck behind the ears, so that it lies close to the scalp, then finish the look off with a slick of heavy hair gel or oil, to complete the high-shine finish. Blinding.
2 RISING DAMP
DIFFICULTY: 2/3 On lazy days, skip that much-needed wash session and channel Each x Other’s A/W 18 wet-look wonder. After brushing the hair, “Work half a handful of mousse into the roots and two-thirds of the way down the hair – there should be no product left to coat the rest. Then, scrunch a liberal amount of salt spray on the lengths to give the hair more texture,” says Abergel. Finally, run a pea-sized amount of pomade through the tips for added definition and hop back into bed for an extra 15 minutes of nap time.
3 HOT MESS
DIFFICULTY: 2.5/3 This half-up, half-down Max Mara A/W 18 look is a hairbrush-free zone. Start by slathering your locks in a 50p-sized dollop of gel and running your fingers through your hair to create texture. Then, while the gel is still wet, pull the hair above the ears into a small ponytail and pin it to the back of the head.“Tug at small sections from the top to add height, then use a toothbrush around the hairline to rough up the edges”, says Abergel. Hold it all in place with a flexible, lightweight hairspray. Time to shine.
