Amp up your look with slick metallics

This triple-threat look seen on the catwalk at Emporio Armani will make everyone else green with envy. To recreate it, make-up artist Georgina Graham says to start by “taking an emerald-green shadow and lightly dusting a soft wash of colour on the top lid and under the eye using a fluffy blending brush”. Next, buff a grey-black shade into the inner corner of the eye and all the way up to the brow. Then, use your finger to press on a metallic silver pigment around the tear duct. Trace the waterline with black kajal liner and “finish it off with some added drama by blending more green and black shadow under the lower lash line,” says Graham. Smokin.’

Dashing out the door? Take Nicopanda’s superspeedy catwalk eye with you. Graham suggests using “a soft, blendable bronze metallic eyeshadow stick to colour up to the crease on the top lid and along the lower lash line. Then, with a small paddle brush, blend outwards, following your natural eye shape. The texture of the crayon will make it easy to get the smoky effect.” To go the whole hog, slather lips in a silver glitter gel and leave lashes bare. Cool.
3 WELL OILED DIFFICULTY: 2.5/3
If you’re looking for a full-throttle look, take this Marc Jacobs number for a test drive. Start by brushing a smoky matte eyeshadow over the entire lid and blending it up to the temple. Next, “cover the same brush in a metallic black shadow and blend it up to the crease of the lid, working from the lash line upwards,” says Graham. Then, using the crease under your lower lashes as a guide, draw a semi-circle below the eye with black liquid liner. To finish, use a kajal liner in the upper and lower waterline and add a couple of coats of mascara. You’re geared up to go.
