The Nickelodeon HALL OF FAME

It’s 24 years since Kenan & Kel first aired on Nickelodeon. But while Kenan returns in Trolls World Tour this month, what’s happened to your other teen idols?

COMEDY KINGS

Orange soda, anyone? Kenan (above, right) and Kel were the inseparable BFFs we all loved. After wrapping the fourth season in 2000, Kenan continued in comedy, joining Saturday Night Live in 2003 before appearing in Snakes On A Plane and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Meanwhile, Kel tried his hand at Dancing With The Stars last year, before revealing on Instagram that he’s become a youth pastor in an unlikely career move. Talk about a man of many talents.

SHE’S THE (A)MAN(DA)

Catapulted into the spotlight aged 13, as the host of comedy sketch series The Amanda Show, Amanda Bynes went on to have success on the big screen in She’s The Man, Hairspray and Easy A. Bynes then took an indefinite hiatus from acting in 2010 (and hasn’t appeared in anything since), and endured a public battle with addiction and depression. The 33-year-old dramatically returned in 2018 with a Paper magazine cover where she spoke candidly about her breakdown.

FROM SABRINA TO SITCOM

Melissa Joan Hart shot to fame playing the title character in Clarissa Explains It All, tackling coming-of-age-issues with sass and sarcasm, but it was her role as Sabrina The Teenage Witch (1996-2003) that turned her into a household name. Since then, she’s starred in sitcom Melissa & Joey, a host of Christmas movies and, most recently, the Netflix comedy series No Good Nick. Netflix launched The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina in 2018, but sadly the OG witch (now 43) didn’t return.

BESTIES TO NEMESES?

Classmates-turned-stepbrothers Drake and Josh, one a guitar-playing ladies’ man and the other an Oprah-loving straight-A student, graced our screens from 2004 to 2007. Riding the Drake and Josh wave into the 2020s, both are now 33 years old and Josh Peck (above, left) is a YouTuber and podcaster, while Drake Bell is pursuing his music career. After a brief rift in 2017 when Drake wasn’t invited to Josh’s wedding, the two later made up at that year’s VMAs.

TWINCEPTION

Starring as twins with very different lives in Sister, Sister (1994-1999), real-life twins Tia and Tamera Mowry continued as a work duo, writing book series Twintuition and landing their own reality-TV show, Tia & Tamera, which ended in 2013. They’ve since gone their separate ways: Tamera (right) co-hosts US talk show The Real and Tia presents a cooking show, Tia Mowry At Home. While rumours of a Sister, Sister reboot have fizzled, Tia still says “never say never”. *Keeping everything crossed*

ZOEY 2020

Britney’s little sister Jamie Lynn Spears stole our hearts as the titular California boarding-school student in Zoey 101, which ran for four seasons until 2008. Jamie then turned her hand to country music – releasing one solitary EP, The Journey. Switching back to acting, Jamie is set to appear in Netflix’s upcoming romance drama series Sweet Magnolias in possibly the most anticipated resurrection since Jesus Christ himself. Maybe…
