LAURA WHITMORE MY CV 2018-present: Presenter, BBC Radio 5 Live 2018: Presenter, Survival Of The Fittest 2016: Contestant, Strictly Come Dancing

-

2020: Presenter, Love Island & Love Island: Aftersun “I really loved Shaughna this year. When she said, ‘Congrats, hun’ to Molly! Her one-liners were just brilliant. I’m a huge fan of the show. Apparently it was the closest final ever. I was happy for either Paige and Finn or Siannise and Luke to win.”

2019: Writer & actor, Sadhbh (a short film)

“I’ve always enjoyed writing, and I did a lot of drama growing up, so I tried doing a screenplay. Initially I wasn’t sure if I wanted to put it out in the public domain but we won a little award and had a premiere in London.”

2019: Launches Castaway podcast

“I wanted to launch a podcast but everyone had one! So I had an idea to do a podcast about podcasts. People are interested in what people listen to. I remember having the brilliant [comedian] Sara Pascoe on my first series, and she listens to so much true crime and dark stuff.” “We talk about real issues in a digestible way – and there’s live music, which I love.”

2017: Theatre actor, Not Dead Enough with Shane Richie (below)

“We did a UK tour – I’d never been to places like Shrewsbury or Manchester. I got really stressed after Strictly about the paps outside my house, so to get to go away with this little group of people to do this stage play was really important. We have to identify things that aren’t good for us and remove ourselves from it when we can, just to reset. The pap culture in Shrewsbury was non-existent!” “I had a really bad [ankle] injury. Looking back, I don’t know how I got through that; I’ve never felt pain like it. That was hard because I love the show so much. But I made friends for life with [fellow contestant] Ore Oduba.”

2012-2016: Presenter, The Hot Desk 2012-2016: Presenter, The Brits Backstage 2011-2015: Co-presenter, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Now!

“It was THE big job for me in terms of getting to do live television and working with Ant and Dec. Just watching them do their thing was such a great experience. It was so much fun. Because of the time-zone difference, my alarm clock used to go off at 11pm. I’d be in bed by 3pm.”

2008-2015: Presenter, MTV News Europe

“I saw a competition on MySpace to become the face of MTV News Europe – you had to upload a two-minute video. Two months later I got a call saying I’d made it down to 150 people from 3,000, and was invited to London for an audition. It [was] the most incredible job.”
