Place colour carefully

-

You might have your smokyeye technique nailed, but when it comes to non-neutral shades, you can afford to be more experimental with your application.

Wolff (or @Nikki_Makeup as you most likely know her) suggests trying “pops of colour” at first. “Try a little bit of green in the inner corner of your eye, or go for a blue liner. Little touches of colour are less scary, but still have maximum impact.” Placement and technique are also key. “A wash of colour is the most chic way to wear brights once you’re comfortable,” Hughes says. “Blend one colour all over the lid and diffuse at the edges with a fluffy brush. Finish with a good coat of mascara – no falsies as they can make your look too try-hard.”
