When Brazilian diving duo Ingrid Oliveira and Giovanna Pedroso finished last in Rio 2016, it was reported to be down to Oliveira having “a marathon night of sex” with a canoeist the day before competing. This eventually led to the pair splitting up. Oliveira later said she have sex, but not the night before, and lambasted those who criticised her for it. “I received pornography… I lost work, I was attacked around the world,” she said. “It was all because I’m a woman who had sex.”
