Beauty lab Glow-boosting bronzers
Each month, our beauty team tests the newest products to see what reigns supreme. Here, Victoria Jowett and Keeks Reid go in search of sun-kissed skin
Dior Forever Natural Bronze in 06 Amber Bronze, £40 Victoria:
This formula is so finely milled it melted into my skin like a dream, and it lasted all day (despite me constantly whipping my face mask on and off). There are eight shades in a mixture of warm and cool undertones – that being said, the shade range does skew a little fairer than the others on this page, so I’d love to see a few deeper options added to the line-up.
Huda Beauty Tantour in Medium, £26 Keeks:
I was so impressed with the five shades of this bronzer – they range from a light sandy bronze to a rich cocoa. I used the Medium shade, and it was a dreamy, subtle warm hue on me – if you have a deeper skin tone, you could opt for Tan or Rich. It’s a creamy mousse formula that blends well over foundation and doesn’t budge once set.
Beauty Bay Powder Bronzer in Button, £6 Keeks:
When I saw the price of this bronzer, I did a doubletake. Sun-kissed skin for the price of a Pret salad? Sign me up. The packaging is no-frills, but the product inside is pretty incredible for under a tenner. The eight shades are all matte, so I’d recommend adding a little highlighter for some glow. The Button shade was a great match for me, and I only needed a gentle sweep for max sculpting.
Iconic London Ultimate Bronzing Powder in Rich Bronze, £25 Keeks:
First of all, this is huge. I love a girthy bronzer, as it gives you more room to properly swish your brush in it and create a natural look. There are six shades to choose from – the two deepest ones were a little off for my complexion, but the cool-toned Rich Bronze was ace at creating a subtle contour.
Victoria Beckham Beauty Matte Bronzing Brick in 03, £52 Victoria:
I know, this bronzer is painfully expensive – it is VB, after all. The palette itself is beyond chic – it’s weighted, with brass accents and a slimline design that makes it perfect for an everyday make-up bag. There are four shades to choose from, and each has two different hues of bronzer within – one lighter, for warming, and the other deeper, for contouring.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Bronzer in Medium, £39 Victoria:
Whoever said size doesn’t matter hasn’t tried this bronzer. Seriously, the pan is almost as big as my palm. Add to that the stunning rose-gold packaging and it’s ticked all my boxes. There are four shades – I went for Medium, which has a neutral-peachy undertone that gave my cooler skin tone a flattering glow, and was versatile enough to work well even after I’d applied fake tan.
